The NASUWT has a dual membership agreement with Gewerkschaft Erziehung und Wissenschaft Hauptvorstand (GEW) which offers support to UK teachers undertaking teaching in Germany and vice versa.
Local representation and negotiation with the employer in respect of the interests of the member is provided by GEW. Registration with the union in the ‘host country’ is required by providing proof of existing union membership.
The NASUWT has agreements in place with local firms of solicitors for members in Gibraltar, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man (IOM).
Children’s Education (SCE)
The NASUWT membership has increased within the Service Children’s Education sector (SCE) and the Union’s influence has continued to grow across schools in Germany, Cyprus and other Ministry of Defence establishments around the world.
The NASUWT now represents over half of the teaching staff in the sector.
The NASUWT has a Federation for teachers who work for SCE. Casework services are primarily delivered to members via a network of lay officials.
Members requiring advice or casework representation arising out of their teaching employment should contact their Local Association Secretary or the SCE Federation Secretary.
Contact details can be obtained from the Membership Team.
