The Shaw Education Trust (SET) has special, primary and secondary academies based in North West and West Midlands regions. The NASUWT, along with the other workforce unions, has negotiated a trade union recognition agreement with SET for consultation and collective bargaining purposes.

This provides the necessary structures for the NASUWT to meet with SET at a national level and on a regular basis in the SET National Negotiation Joint Committee (NNJC). The NNJC is where the trade unions meet with SET to negotiate on pay, conditions of service issues, and policies and procedures for teachers and other SET staff.

SET currently employs teachers according to the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document and Burgundy Book in all their academies.
